Honor's new Magic3 series makes a stunning debut - the first high-end flagship released after independence
On August 12, Beijing time, Honor officially launched the much-anticipated Magic3 series of smartphones at a new product launch conference. This is also the first high-end flagship product launched by Honor after it separated from Huawei. The entire series covers three models: Magic3, Magic3 Pro and Magic3 Ultimate Edition, each with its own highlights, aiming to seize the high-end market.
Extreme design and screen performance
The Magic3 series continues to use the highly recognizable circular camera design. In terms of color matching, Magic3 provides four options: bright black, glazed white, dawn blue and morning gold; Magic3 Pro is mainly bright black, glazed white and morning gold; and the Ultimate Edition is presented in ceramic black and ceramic white with a ceramic back cover. Magic3 uses a 6.76-inch hyperbolic screen with a frame curvature of up to 89° and a side edge of only 0.55mm, presenting a screen-to-body ratio of up to 94.86%. It also supports 120Hz ultra-high refresh rate, HDR10+ and 1.07 billion color display, bringing users an excellent visual experience.
Powerful hardware and image upgrade
In terms of core performance, Magic3 is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 processor, while the Pro and Ultimate Editions are upgraded to the more efficient Snapdragon 888+. In terms of the imaging system, Magic3 and Pro use a combination of three and four cameras respectively. The main camera uses the IMX766 sensor, supplemented by high-pixel black and white and ultra-wide-angle lenses. The Pro version also adds a periscope telephoto and ToF focus system; the Ultimate Edition main camera is upgraded to IMX700, and the ultra-wide-angle lens is also comprehensively improved. At the same time, Honor introduced the Magic-Log video format for the first time to help professional-level post-production.
Fully upgraded battery life and system experience
The entire series has a built-in 4600mAh battery, supports 66W wired fast charging, and the Pro and Ultimate Editions are equipped with 50W wireless fast charging, and are IP68 dust and water resistant. Honor has also launched three major technologies: OS Turbo X, GPU Turbo X, and LINK Turbo X, to fully optimize the software and hardware collaboration and communication experience. The entire series runs the Magic UI 5.0 system based on Android 11, which is more intelligent and smoother to operate.
Market positioning and future layout
The starting price starts at 4599 yuan. The Honor Magic3 series is positioned as a domestic high-end flagship, aiming to fill the market gap left by Huawei's Mate and P series. Honor CEO Zhao Ming said that this product not only demonstrates Honor's comprehensive upgrades in architecture design, photography and AI capabilities, but also marks the company's firm determination in R&D, branding and international market expansion. Qualcomm's president stood up for Honor through video, further demonstrating the industry's expectations and confidence in this flagship product.
The launch of the Honor Magic 3 series heralds the completion of the company's new product matrix, providing more choices for high-end users in government, business, and academia, and laying a solid foundation for future overseas market layout.
